Online for me. They are saying they are working on getting new server
hardware http://www.castlecops.com/server_marathon.html The web and
database servers are high load and bottlenecks are input and ouput.

As I mess with it, I get intermittency (on some subdomains) such as
"Could not connect to remote server" such as when I try to connect to the
blog blog.castlecops.com

When that kind of stuff is going on, some other tool than the browser is
more useful. A simpler tool is idserve which can try to get the webserver
to ident on port 80. When that isn't working, then just trying to see the
port 80 without an ident tells you something.

Connecting to the server on standard HTTP port: 80
No response was received from the machine and port at that IP. The machine
may be offline or the connection port may be stealthed.
Query complete.

tracert is only useful if you know the target will echo an icmp ping.
There are also udp and tcp port 80 traceroutes in addition to icmp
traceroute.

A lot of things won't echo pings or tracert. Some will echo icmp but not
others.
