Microsoft is currently offering free hosting, apparently including 
registering the domain name.  They claim it is only free now, and will 
be a for pay service in the future.  Apparently they keep ownership of 
the domain name.

You have to use a credit card to verify identity.

And what did I get today?  An advance fee scam sent through a zombie 
wanting a reply to an address hosted by Microsoft.

And report_spam (at) hotmail.com just refused to process the report 
because the spam did not go through them, so I am redirecting the report 
to abuse(at)microsoft.com.

Usually after one or two replies someone at Microsoft claims to take 
care of the problem.
