It was damn annoying. I must have received somewhere in the region of
about 30GB of data in just the one day. End result of it was that I
exceeded the downloads limit my ISP has in place[0], which resulted in
then restricting my download speed, which then made the DDOS more
effective/prolonged.

Of course, it was really my fault. I knew the botnet would defend itself
in this way having already read:

[0] 60GB over a 30 rolling period. I'm normally at around 40GB but on a
single day it jumped to 74GB. Unfortunately, their automated system only
send out warnings at the end of the day that you exceed 55GB, but not if
you exceed 60GB. Since I did that in one day, it imposed the restriction
but sent no warning about it.
