Since faxes aren't HTML, you received a spam e-mail that you sent back 
to them.  While there is still some work to be done regarding e-mail 
spam laws and enforcing them, junk fax laws have been around for a 
very long time.  You could end up finding yourself viewed as a 
vigilante by the court and breaking the junk fax laws if the spammer 
wanted to press charges against you.  The law does not permit you to 
commit a crime in retaliation for a prior inflicted crime.  They can 
probably more easily prove loss of resources in court from your 
malicious fax than you could prove in loss of your resources for 
getting their spam.  Are you really prepared for court?  From their 
spam content, you sure you aren't in a business relationship with 
them, like you are Medicare, some HMO, or through some "affiliate" 
clause with another health-related company?
