This is not a productive exercise IMHO. In this case it appears to be 
someone who may feel sincerely they are helping people (I know, it's 
spam, but it's straight-up from = source). It is generated within the US 
and is not CAN-SPAM compliant.

Many, if not most, anti-spammers feel that one cannot fight abuse with 
abuse. Technically you committed the same "job" on them that they did 
you. In some states you could be taken to small claims court for that 
fax. You've also possibly disclosed your fax number to them, which again 
is not very smart IMHO.

It is my understanding that publicinterestregistry.net, which is 
responsible for registering .org domains, are quick to cancel domains 
which can be proven to spam. They are clearly a commercial enterprise 
and such registrations sully the .org domain - that's what 
publicinterestregistry.net wishes to protect against.
