I understand your point, but when one opens a *brand new* account with Cox
and the day they assign an e-mail account to you there are over eighty (80)
spam message in the account... then I see a problem.
And, if you never give out your new e-mail address or use it and it just
gets fuller and fuller of spam... then ????
I have mail with my business ISP and they provide a number of tools
(including white/black-list, heuristics, etc.) for combatting spam. I find
that the defenses they provide often causes legitimate mail to get eaten
while the handful of spam still slips through.
But my issue with Cox is that they don't provide any tools at the server
level... so I have to rely on client-side tools like SpamPal and others to
deal with what comes through.
Anyway, not to start a fight... just to clarify where I was coming from.
