The primary problem is that few spam reports get a response and reporters
are always suspicious when they get the first one. Most people do not get
the auto-ack responses.
A secondary problem is that occasionally server admins who are spamming will
try to listwash reporter names. That adds to the general feeling that /all/
responses are spam. Plus the fact that most abuse reports are necessarily
generic sounding which is just one more email to delete.
I always wondered whether it was worth sending a thank you to an abuse desk.
They, too, have a lot to do. And, just to be on the safe side, one has to
be sure that your primary email address is not exposed.
