Is there something going on with email-based reporting that > we should know about??? My email submissions from earlier today have been responded. Here's a suggestion I gave someone else a few days ago: Troubleshooting strategy: Go to the webparser submission page to login and see if there is an alert about a problem with your account. Email a copy of your submission to another different account than the spamcop submission. Potential problems: - if spamcop experienced a bounce (for some temporary reason) when it emailed your report, then it deactivates your account until the problem is resolved, so you don't get any reports emailed from spamcop. The attempt to login above will show a problem with your account's address - if your provider has started to silently drop spam 'propagated' from its clients, then it could silently drop your submissions to spamcop because they contain spam qualities. The attempt to send a copy of the spamcop submission to an alternate mail account via your provider will also fail. -- Mike Easter kibitzer, not SC admin From avoozl at spamcop.net Sat Jul 12 02:59:52 2008 From: avoozl at spamcop.net (Chris F. I'm not sure I understand the question at all. Setting up a SpamCop.net e-mail account to access these external e-mail servers is a done via a configuration screen on JT's hardware .. but you'd be defining Yahoo/HotMail access points there. The Forum section SpamCop Email System & Accounts > SpamCop Flat-Rate Email Account Setup contains and entry titled "PopGate Supported Proprietary ISPs" that includes a "popgate.cesmail.net" entry to be used on a configuration page or two. Since the regular one didn't seem to work for hotmail or yahoo. Now that one appears to be gone. I just wanted an update one what the current available servers are. :) Thanks. For Yahoo!, using username "youraddress@yahoo.com" (for one value of youraddress), popgate2.cesmail.net had 405 errors "Cannot contact server" and no password before I reconfigured it to popgate.cesmail.net with the appropriate password as a test, which started producing "Unknown error: 4". I then reconfigured it back to popgate2.cesmail.net with the appropriate password, which again produced errors "Cannot contact server". -- Best Regards, Jeff G. http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?act=findpost&pid=37585 Wazoo and dbiel, as always, have my permission to post my SpamCop Newsgroup posts in the SpamCop Forum and Wiki without this paragraph.
