Please use the 'Problem' button in Webmail to request more information or to increase your limit. " relates to your reference statement "To limit the influence of these spam runs, yesterday we added a 30 recipient limit to e-mails sent via Webmail -- that is, no one message can be addressed to more than 30 people. If you need to send to more than 30 addresses and cannot break the list into batches of 30, please use a stand-alone e-mail client instead of Webmail." I could forward 1 email to 1 recipient without getting error message. My error message says I can increase limit but I can not find out how. How? When you are logged into the webmail application (which we are assuming you are using here), there is an icon across the top labeled "Problem". Hit the button and fill in the form. If you are not using webmail when you are getting this error, tell them that too. You can also submit an error to support@spamcop.net but it seems the Problem button is the current preferred method. Please use the 'Problem' button in > Webmail to request more information or to increase your limit. I think that what is missing is a description of exactly what you are doing that is causing that error message. Wazoo referred to: http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=9657 spammers have been gaining access to SpamCop e-mail accounts -- 30 recipient limit to e-mails sent via Webmail -- that is, no one message can be addressed to more than 30 people. -- please use a stand-alone e-mail client instead of Webmail. That forum post describes a 30 recipient limit and it also recommends against using webmail for a mailing list. Your error message apparently is the result of something other than one mail to more than 30 people, but instead is about exceeding a total daily limit of 400 recipients and advises you that you might try to increase that total daily limit by using the Problem button. > How do I increase the > limit that is mentioned in message. The error message advises using the Problem button to increase the daily limit, and/but/however then you say.... > All my spam gets sent to Knujon. ... and then later on you go on to say more.... > I could forward 1 email to 1 recipient without getting error message. ... suggesting that perhaps you forward all of your spam to the knujon address knujon@coldrain.net and that as a result the forwarded items count toward your total daily limit of 400 recipients. Or, alternatively, that you use the numerous more specific coldrain.net addresses to specifically address the various spam types to result in exceeding the total daily limit. > My error message says I can increase limit but I can not find out how. The Problem button avenue is mentioned in the alert, but I'm wondering if there is something about the style of your usage which might be a problem. I'm not a spamcop mailuser, so all I know is what I read as an outsider. If the spamcopmailuser insecurity problem has resulted in constraints on total outgoing mail totals along with those of number of recipients, then the admin isn't going to want to relax the number of recipients per individual mail and they /might/ similarly be reluctant to increase the total daily mail. But, you won't know until you find out what happens when you try the Problem button route advised in the alert and by Steven Underwood. -- Mike Easter kibitzer, not SC admin
