I wouldn't buy _any_ new computer with less than 2 GM of RAM. It's cheap,
and it's easier to have it factory installed and tested than to have to
upgrade it yourself if you're not computer hardware literate (you could
accidentally fry something on the MoBo if you're not careful).

The size of the hard drive (80 GB of data capacity) has nothing to do with
it's speed. You want to look at the access time in the specs, faster is of
course better.
