If you can find a print server (Buffalo, NetGear, etc) that support your 
printer, you can add it to the network such that it gets an IP address 
and configure all the computers to print via IP.  You might loose some 
printer features though - like double-siding, etc.

File | New Shell or Apple-N   That's what it is on my non-Tiger MacBook.

If that doesn't work, look into the Unix 'screen' utility which you may 
have to install.
