[Scgeeks] Simple(?) Firefox question

One of the things I like is that FF allows you the option to save your
username and PW for a site the first time you go there. I had a site set
up like that, and during my HD cleaning frenzy last week I guess a
cookie got deleted because it won't remember the ID/PW for that site
anymore and it also won't ask me if I want to save them either. How do I
get out of this sandbox?
