[Scgeeks] Question about Ipod Nano (latest edtion)

I have never had an IPOD nano before, and we got a new IPOD Nano 4G device.
I can setup and load the unit fine, I beleive.

My question is about something that was in the package!

Inside was a white object about as long as the Nano is high.
The short end will fit in a indentation in it.
That indentation has a slot in the bottom.

What is that piece used for?
