If you post the trackers for the spamitems in question instead of trying to describe them, they can be addressed more precisely. No comment on 'News' spam, but all my Ebay/Paypal spam usually gets high SpamAssassin scores and so is no trouble. Yes, they're coming through in droves. Always just a GIF image. Rarely caught by a blacklist. On the ones still in my trash the SpamAssassin score has been 4.0, so I think I'll try lowering my limit & see how much legitimate mail that gets. I got a throwaway free email address to give to the businesses in my personal life, long before phishing was a problem. In fact, I went with just my first initial, and then my phone number. I later realized that a ten digit number in an eleven character email handle annoys people, and in theory discourages spammers from spamming what may be a spam trap address. I've had it for years, and have gotten less than one spam a year. I don't know if everyone I do business with is just that honest, or if the ten digit number is offputting. The serendipity is that when I see phish on my spamcop address, I know without a second thought that it's phish.
